Resveratrol Weight Loss Benefits

Recent scientific studies have shown several resveratrol weight loss benefits, as well as many other benefits of resveratrol. Resveratrol is a phytoalexin; a plants natural defense against invading toxins and fungi. It is most commonly found in red grapes, cranberries, blueberries, and peanuts.

Resveratrol contains high levels of antioxidants, which are useful in maintaining a healthy immune system and fighting certain diseases and cancers. The antioxidants in resveratrol have been shown to help prevent heart disease, kidney disease, and even neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease.

Resveratrol weight loss benefits include a boosted metabolism, increased energy levels, and the ability to reverse obesity and diabetes. In a 2006 scientific study, mice fed a high fat diet + given resveratrol were 30% less likely to die then mice fed a high fat diet without resveratrol. Insulin and glucose levels on the mice fed a high fat diet + resveratrol were similar to those of mice fed a standard diet, and were much lower than the mice fed a high fat diet without resveratrol.

The best way to take advantage of all of the resveratrol weight loss benefits is to take a nutritional supplement. For a free (less shipping and handling) bottle of resveratrol, visit ProResvera.

Lose Weight Quickly Fasting: Eat Stop Eat

If you're looking for a way to lose weight quickly, fasting is the best, although not necessarily the healthiest, method. Fasting is defined as abstaining from food or drink for a specific period of time. The goal is to trick the body into burning excess fat for energy, which causes the body to lose weight quickly fasting.

There are several health concerns when fasting. Long term fasting can deplete the body of essential vitamins and minerals, leaving your body susceptible to diseases and infections. Muscle breakdown can also occur if the body enters into starvation mode. Fasting can also upset potassium, sodium, and blood sugar levels in the body, making it a dangerous weight loss option for people with diabetes, heart, or kidney problems.

A popular new weight loss program, Eat Stop Eat is designed to take advantage of the benefits of fasting while minimizing the risks. Developed by certified nutritionist Brad Pilon, Eat Stop Eat teaches "intermittent fasting," fasting for a 24 hour period 2 days a week while eating normally the other 5. This causes the body to burn off the excess fat, but not disrupt your metabolism.

If you're looking for an easy way to lose weight quickly fasting, Eat Stop Eat is the best way to achieve results. There are no complicated meal plans to follow and no additional supplements to purchase. It even comes with an unconditional 60-day money back guarantee, so you have no excuse to start losing those extra pounds!

PETA "Save The Whales Ad" now "Gone"

PETA has pulled their controversial "Save The Whales: Go Vegetarian" billboards down, and replaced them with a simpler, less mean spirited message. The new billboard, located in Jacksonville, Florida, now reads "Gone: Just Like All The Pounds Lost By People Who Go Vegetarian."

PETA says that while some people have expressed their opposition to the "Save The Whales" ad, the group has also been inundated with calls and e-mails of support, including from people who are taking PETA's 30-day "Pledge To Be A Veg" challenge.

According to PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman, "Going vegetarian is the best way to keep weight off and improve your health. We're thrilled that people have been inspired to give a vegetarian diet a try, and we know that they--and animals--will be glad they did."

Add Blueberries To Your Vegetarian Meal Plan

When planning your vegetarian meal plan, make sure to add plenty of blueberries. Research has shown that blueberries contain the highest levels of antioxidants of any fruit. Antioxidants cancel out the cell damaging effects of free radicals in the body, and may even be useful in preventing certain types of diseases and cancers. In fact, the USDA Human Nutrition Research Center has shown that consuming blueberries actually slows the aging process in the human body. Even if you do not follow a vegetarian meal plan, it is still a good idea to eat plenty of fresh blueberries!

PETA "Save The Whales" Campaign: Go Vegetarian!

PETA has just launched a new campaign promoting a vegetarian diet to help overweight people "Lose the Blubber." The billboard, in Jacksonville, Florida, features a drawing of an obese woman in a bikini with the phrase "Save the Whales. Lose the Blubber: Go Vegetarian."

PETA stated the following, in a press release:

A new PETA billboard campaign that was just launched in Jacksonville
reminds people who are struggling to lose weight -- and who want to have enough
energy to chase a beach ball -- that going vegetarian can be an effective way to
shed those extra pounds that keep them from looking good in a bikini. [....]
Anyone wishing to achieve a hot "beach bod" is reminded that studies show
that vegetarians are, on average, about 10 to 20 pounds lighter than
meat-eaters. [...]
"Trying to hide your thunder thighs and balloon belly is
no day at the beach," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman.

Certainly an attention grabbing billboard, but kudos for promoting a vegetarian lifestyle!

Benefits of a Vegetarian Meal Plan

There are several benefits of a vegetarian meal plan. Several scientific studies have show that a diet high in consumption of fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains, and nuts, along with moderate exercise and avoidance of animal products, is associated with less obesity, heart disease, stroke, and even certain cancers. Simply put, vegetarians tend to live longer, healthier lives than their meat consuming counterparts.

Statistically, vegetarians are 50% less likely to develop heart disease. Vegetarians also have only 40% of the rate of cancer the average meat eating person has, and live an average of 6-10 years longer than meat eaters. Vegetarians also have stronger immune systems, and are less susceptible to colds and other common illnesses.

It is important to realize that simply switching to a vegetarian diet will not automatically make you a healthier person. Care must be taken in developing a well balanced and nutritious vegetarian meal plan. Vegetarian diets do tend to be lower in vitamin D, B-12, calcium, and iron, which are all essential nutrients. Vitamin supplements may need to be taken if you don't incorporate the right foods in your diet.
